Materials:
Worsted weight yarn (100g)
Knitting needles (size 4, 5mm)
Yarn needle

Abbreviations:
CO: Cast on
K: Knit
P: Purl
Rep: Repeat
St(s): Stitch(es)

Instructions:

Body:
CO 96 sts.
Work in 2x2 rib (K2, P2) for 8 rows.
Change to stockinette stitch (all knit) and work for 45 rows.
Shape the crown by following the sequence until all stitches are decreased:

Row 1: K2tog across the row.
Row 2: Knit.
Row 3: K2tog across the row.


Cut the yarn and pull through the last stitch to fasten off.

Earflap:
Pick up 28 sts along the lower edge of the cap.
Work in 2x2 rib (K2, P2) for 8 rows.
Fold the earflap in half and sew the sides together.
Repeat steps 1-3 for the other earflap.

Finishing:
Weave in any loose ends.
Turn the cap inside out and fold up the brim for a cozy fit.
