Materials:- Worsted weight yarn (approximately 1 skein)
- Size US 8 (5 mm) circular knitting needles, 16” in length
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:- 20 stitches and 26 rows in 4 inches

Abbreviations:- CO: Cast on
- K: Knit
- P: Purl
- Rep: Repeat
- Sl: Slip
- BO: Bind off

Instructions:

Hat Body:1. CO 100 stitches onto the circular needles.
2. Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches.
3. Work in the following rib stitch pattern for 4 inches:
- Round 1: *K2, P2*
- Round 2: *P2, K2*
4. Knit the next 3 rounds in stockinette stitch (knit every stitch).

Earflap Decreases:1. Place a marker on the center stitch of the front of the hat.
2. Knit around to the marker.
3. Row 1: K2, Sl 1, K1, PSSO (pass slipped stitch over knitted stitch), K2tog, Knit to marker.
